Xiaomi has started crowdfunding for the Smart Camera 5 Pro Full Color Night Vision in China, pricing it at around $64 during the campaign. The camera will later carry a regular retail price of around $90. Additionally, Xiaomi describes it as the company’s first day and night full color camera, with a clear focus on keeping security footage in color even in low light conditions.
Dual Camera Setup With 4K Video
Most affordable security cameras switch to black and white infrared footage once lighting conditions turn dark. However, the Smart Camera 5 Pro instead uses a dual lens system built around an 8MP main sensor and a 4MP secondary sensor. This setup supports 4K video output alongside full color night vision. Xiaomi has also equipped the camera with a built in soft light for additional illumination when needed. Furthermore, several night vision modes are available, including human detection, event triggered monitoring, and a mode designed to avoid visible red light.
Local AI Handles Detection
The Smart Camera 5 Pro includes a local AI processor capable of 1.5 TOPS of computing performance. The camera can identify people and pets, and it can detect crying sounds directly on the device. Because these tasks run locally, the detection data does not need to travel to the cloud for analysis. Therefore, users get faster response times along with an added layer of privacy.

360 Degree Pan and Tilt
Xiaomi has fitted the camera with a dual motor pan and tilt system to provide wider coverage. It can rotate through 360 degrees horizontally and move across a 174 degree vertical range. Meanwhile, Xiaomi is positioning the camera for use in living rooms, nurseries, and elder care environments, as well as for monitoring pets.
Wi-Fi 6 and Two-Way Calls
The Xiaomi Smart Camera 5 Pro supports two way voice calls, letting users communicate directly through the device. Connectivity includes Mijia Smart Connect along with dual band Wi-Fi 6. Xiaomi claims Wi-Fi 6 can improve transmission speeds by up to 60 percent.
Multiple Storage Options
Users can store footage using microSD cards, cloud storage, or NAS systems. The camera also relies on Xiaomi’s AOR all day low power recording system, which reduces storage consumption while keeping important footage available. Instead of relying solely on cloud storage, a microSD card can handle local storage, including continuous recording.
Privacy Features
Xiaomi has also included several privacy controls, such as lens masking, local AI processing, and access controls. These features matter especially for a camera designed for private areas like bedrooms and nurseries. Finally, the Xiaomi Smart Camera 5 Pro Full Color Night Vision remains available through crowdfunding in China for around $64, before its price rises to roughly $90 at retail.
