PurAzm Pakistan youth program goes national with billions in funding, language training, and employment drives across 17 countries
Pakistan has officially launched a major new initiative for its young population. The government unveiled the PurAzm Pakistan youth program at a national ceremony in Islamabad, targeting education, skills development, employment, and entrepreneurship. Moreover, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan confirmed that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif approved all youth development proposals without compromise on the allocated budget. Therefore, the program arrives with full political backing and serious financial commitment.
The numbers reflect that commitment. Rs. 19 billion has been set aside for technical and vocational education during the current fiscal year. Furthermore, the Prime Minister’s Youth Program is working in collaboration with Generation Unlimited to create opportunities across arts, culture, science, technology, and sports. Therefore, the program covers a deliberately wide range of sectors rather than focusing narrowly on one pathway.
Language training is one of the more distinctive elements of the initiative. The program offers courses in Japanese, Arabic, English, Korean, German, and French. Furthermore, teams linked to the youth program are currently exploring employment opportunities for Pakistani workers in 17 countries. Therefore, the foreign language push directly supports overseas employment prospects for young Pakistanis seeking international careers.
The Digital Youth Hub, launched last year, has already demonstrated the program’s reach. It now counts more than 800,000 registered youth and over 2,000 registered companies on its platform. Furthermore, officials announced the launch of the Pakistan Education Endowment Fund during the ceremony. Modelled on the Punjab Education Endowment Fund, it will provide financial assistance to deserving students across the country.
The youth program traces its roots back to 2013 under Nawaz Sharif, when it began with laptop distribution, scholarships, and student loans. It has since grown considerably. Finally, with PurAzm Pakistan now operational at the national level, the government is making a clear statement — investing in youth is no longer optional, it is the strategy.
