Islamabad United storm past Karachi Kings at the National Bank Stadium. The three-time champions chased down 151 runs with eight wickets in hand. They finished the job with 24 balls to spare. Captain Shadab Khan won the toss and bowled first. That decision paid off immediately. Karachi could only manage 150 for 6 in their 20 overs.
Sameer Minhas and Devon Conway set the tone early. The opening pair put together 93 runs in just 10 overs. Minhas smashed 58 off 36 deliveries with 10 fours. He finally fell to Moeen Ali on the last ball of the 10th over. Conway remained unbeaten on 53 off 36 balls. He hit six fours and a six. Shadab added a quickfire 31 not out from 16 deliveries.
Islamabad United storm past Karachi with a complete team effort. Richard Gleeson and Shadab took two wickets each. Faheem Ashraf and Mohammad Hasnain chipped in with one apiece. Jason Roy looked good on his PSL return. He scored 39 off 27 balls with three fours and two sixes. Reeza Hendricks carried his bat for an unbeaten 51 off 44 deliveries. But no other batter offered serious resistance.
Saad Baig fell for just six runs in the second over. Salman Ali Agha managed only four. Khushdil Shah scored two. The Kings never recovered from those early blows. United now look dangerous in the playoff race. Their bowling attack fires together. Their top order delivers consistently. Other teams should take notice.
