Mohammad Rizwan did not hide his disappointment. The RawalPindiz captain opens up on struggles after fifth straight PSL 11 loss, following a 61 run defeat to Quetta Gladiators. The debut side remains at the bottom of the standings with zero wins so far. “We certainly recognize the need for change,” Rizwan said after the match. “Adjustments are required to get us back on track.”
RawalPindiz have faced multiple issues this season. They lost three matches despite posting totals above 180. In two other games, the batting unit failed to put up a defendable score. The team brought in pacer Ben Sears and opener Usman Khawaja for their Karachi leg opener, but the changes did not deliver results. Rizwan admitted that his own form has come under pressure too. He has scored only 83 runs in five innings at an average of 16.60.
Reflecting on the Quetta match, Rizwan said the bowling unit lost control in the later stages. “We felt we were restricting them well to around 140 or 150, but Hasan Nawaz and Jahandad took the score from 150 to 180,” he said. Despite the poor start, the RawalPindiz captain opens up on struggles after fifth straight loss but remains hopeful. Five matches still remain in the league stage. “We need to play with courage,” he said. “If we play well, we might qualify for the playoffs.”
