The Punjab rain spell is expected to continue after the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) issued a province-wide alert. The Pakistan Meteorological Department forecast five more days of rain and thunderstorms across the province. Authorities warned that heavy downpours could trigger flooding in rivers and rain-fed streams. They urged district administrations to stay prepared for any emergency.

Rain continued in Lahore and several other cities across Punjab. Islamabad and Rawalpindi also received intermittent showers that brought cooler weather. The Met Office said the wet spell will likely continue into next week. Officials added that strong winds and frequent rainfall will keep temperatures lower in many areas.

Lahore recorded a temperature of 27°C, while the maximum temperature is expected to reach 32°C. Weather experts warned that changing conditions could disrupt travel and daily activities. Therefore, they advised residents to monitor weather updates and remain cautious during periods of heavy rainfall.

The PDMA instructed deputy commissioners to remain on high alert and closely monitor flood-prone areas. It also directed district administrations to keep emergency response teams ready for any weather-related incidents. Authorities said quick action would help reduce damage and provide timely assistance to affected communities.

The Punjab rain alert also included public safety advice. Officials urged people to stay away from rivers, rain-fed streams, electricity poles, and damaged buildings during heavy rain. They said following safety guidelines can reduce risks and help protect lives throughout the ongoing monsoon spell.
