Iran US talks remain active through indirect channels involving Pakistan, Qatar, and Oman, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said. He accused Washington of violating previous agreements while reaffirming Tehran’s commitment to diplomacy. However, he stressed that protecting Iran’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and citizens remains the government’s highest priority during ongoing regional tensions.

Baghaei said Iran negotiated in good faith and reached a 14-point Memorandum of Understanding with the United States. He claimed Tehran fulfilled its commitments during the agreement’s 30-day implementation period by ensuring safe commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. However, he alleged that the United States launched military operations before the agreement’s implementation period ended.

The Iranian spokesperson also claimed Washington failed to release Iranian assets frozen abroad despite commitments under the memorandum. He said the funds belonged to Iran and only required the removal of restrictions for access. Moreover, he argued that these actions weakened trust and damaged diplomatic efforts between the two countries.

Meanwhile, Baghaei rejected allegations linking Iran to recent security incidents in the Strait of Hormuz. He said Iran has protected navigation through the strategic waterway for decades. Furthermore, he blamed recent instability on US and Israeli military operations and confirmed that maritime security discussions continue with Oman and other Gulf states.

Baghaei also criticized European countries for failing to honor commitments after the US withdrew from the 2015 nuclear agreement. He accused Western governments of applying double standards on international law and human rights. Finally, he reaffirmed that indirect Iran US talks continue through Pakistan, Qatar, and Oman despite ongoing regional tensions.
