A group of volunteer soldiers within the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) has made headlines by refusing to report to their assigned posts. They cited a lack of adequate protection against incoming Iranian and Hezbollah missile attacks.
The soldiers, according to local media reports, claimed they had been raising these safety concerns with their superiors for over a month. However, their requests for fortified shelters were repeatedly ignored or delayed by the military.
One frustrated soldier described the terrifying reality on the ground, stating that when sirens sound, they only have helmets for protection. He remarked that they are left with nothing but prayer during these intense aerial bombardments.
Logistical issues have been blamed for the failure to provide necessary safety infrastructure at several outposts. The troops expressed anger, questioning why a modern army cannot protect its own personnel from predictable and frequent missile fire.
The refusal to serve highlights a growing crisis of confidence regarding military logistics and troop safety during the ongoing “Operation Roaring Lion.” Soldiers argued that without proper bunkers, their lives are being placed at unnecessary risk.
In response, the IDF stated they are working on a comprehensive plan to increase protection for all units. However, the soldiers remain skeptical, pointing out the dangerous gap between official safety instructions and the reality on bases.
