Reports claim that Maddox and Zahara have each filed petitions requesting the removal of “Pitt” from their surnames, marking another significant step in the family’s long-running separation.

According to the reported court notices published in the Los Angeles Daily Journal, Zahara has applied to change her legal name to Zahara Marley Jolie, while Maddox has requested the name Maddox Chivan Jolie. The applications are still awaiting court approval, with separate hearings expected to take place later this year.

A source familiar with the matter described the reported filings as deeply upsetting for Brad Pitt and suggested they reflected the continuing strain within the family.
