Trump Thanks Pakistan for Talks Then Orders US Navy Blockade of Hormuz

Trump thanks Pakistan for talks

The negotiations failed. Then came the blockade. Trump thanks Pakistan for hosting the US Iran talks in Islamabad, but he also announced that the US Navy will begin blockading the Strait of Hormuz effective immediately. The marathon negotiations lasted around 21 hours before ending Sunday with both sides blaming each other for the impasse.

On Truth Social, Trump praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir as extraordinary men. He said most points were agreed to during the meeting. But the only point that really mattered, nuclear, was not. Iran remains unwilling to give up its nuclear ambitions. Trump added that his representatives became friendly and respectful with Iran’s delegation, but the Iranians were very unyielding on the single most important issue.

Following the collapse, Trump announced the US Navy will interdict vessels paying tolls to Iran and begin clearing mines in the waterway. Any Iranian who fires at us or peaceful vessels will be blown to hell, he warned. Trump thanks Pakistan for talks but now takes a much harder line. Iran’s senior adviser Ali Akbar Velayati responded swiftly, saying the Strait of Hormuz is firmly in our hands.

Tehran demands control of the strait, war reparations, and a regional ceasefire including Lebanon. Trump thanks Pakistan for hosting, but the blockade changes everything. Three supertankers did pass through the strait on Saturday. Hundreds more remain stuck. For now, Trump thanks Pakistan for talks while preparing for a naval confrontation.
