Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah introduced a major relief package for the people of Sindh on Monday. During a press conference at the CM House, he launched an online portal that allows citizens to register for a monthly fuel grant. This initiative targets bike owners struggling with rising petrol prices. Under the new Sindh motorcycle fuel subsidy program, eligible residents will receive Rs2,000 every month directly into their bank accounts. This amount roughly covers the cost of 20 liters of fuel. To qualify, the motorcycle must be officially registered in the applicant’s name, ensuring the relief reaches the rightful owners.
The registration process is straightforward and designed for quick processing. Applicants need to visit the official provincial portal and enter their CNIC along with their bank account details. Once the system verifies the data, the user receives an automated confirmation. The Chief Minister explained that the government aims to transfer these payments rapidly through the banking system. For instance, Sindh Bank account holders will see the funds within 24 hours. Those using other banks can expect their payment within three days. This Sindh motorcycle fuel subsidy not only provides financial aid but also encourages citizens to engage with formal banking services.
To support this massive registration drive, the Excise and Taxation Department has removed the Rs500 fee for motorcycle ownership transfers. Furthermore, excise offices across the province will stay open from 8:00 am until midnight for the next 15 days, including weekends. This extension gives everyone enough time to update their documentation. The government reports that around 1,500 motorcycles have already been transferred to their actual owners since the announcement. A dedicated helpline is also active to assist anyone facing technical issues during the digital sign-up process.
The fuel relief plan extends beyond just individual bikers. The provincial administration has allocated over 13 billion rupees for this specific project. Additionally, the government is subsidizing thousands of private and public buses to keep transport fares stable. Fares will remain frozen at February 2026 levels to protect commuters from inflation. Small farmers will also begin receiving their own subsidies later this week. By focusing on direct digital transfers, the Sindh government hopes to eliminate middlemen and ensure that every rupee of the relief package reaches the common man effectively.
