Mirpur restores mobile and internet services after 45-day outage

Mirpur restores mobile and internet services as telecom and internet connectivity has started returning after a 45-day suspension in parts of Azad Kashmir. The gradual restoration has brought relief to residents, businesses, and students who faced major communication disruptions during the prolonged outage.

Local reports said mobile phone and internet services resumed in parts of Mirpur and nearby areas on Wednesday. Authorities have started restoring connectivity in phases and expect to expand services across the remaining affected localities in the coming days. Residents welcomed the development after weeks of limited communication.

Earlier, Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said he had received information that authorities would soon restore internet and digital communication services in Mirpur. His remarks came amid growing public demand for the return of essential communication facilities across the region.

The 45-day suspension disrupted daily life by limiting communication, online education, digital banking, and business activities. Many residents struggled to access essential online services, while businesses faced operational difficulties because of the prolonged outage.

The gradual restoration is expected to improve connectivity, revive commercial activity, and help students and professionals resume their online work without further interruptions. Authorities will continue the restoration process until all affected areas regain full mobile and internet services.
