Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has left Manila for Kyrgyzstan to lead Pakistan’s delegation at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers’ meeting. The Ishaq Dar SCO meeting follows his participation in the 33rd ASEAN Regional Forum and reflects Pakistan’s continued engagement in regional diplomacy and multilateral cooperation.

According to the Foreign Office, the Ishaq Dar SCO meeting will take place in Cholpon-Ata on July 23 and 24. Foreign ministers from SCO member states will discuss regional security, economic cooperation, connectivity and important international developments. Pakistan will also present its position on key regional issues and reaffirm its commitment to constructive dialogue.

During the Ishaq Dar SCO meeting, the deputy prime minister will also hold bilateral talks with several foreign ministers from SCO member countries. The meetings will focus on strengthening bilateral relations, expanding trade, improving regional connectivity and enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest. Pakistan hopes these discussions will further deepen its diplomatic and economic partnerships with member states.

Before departing Manila, Dar thanked the Government of the Philippines and the organisers of the ASEAN Regional Forum for their warm hospitality. He appreciated the successful arrangements made during the event and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to active participation in regional and international forums that promote peace and cooperation.

The Ishaq Dar SCO meeting comes at an important time as the region faces growing geopolitical and economic challenges. Pakistan continues to support dialogue, peaceful cooperation and stronger regional partnerships through platforms such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. The visit also underlines Islamabad’s commitment to playing a constructive role in promoting regional peace, stability and sustainable development.
