Ishaq Dar says Pakistan keeping talks alive after US Vice President JD Vance declared the negotiations had failed without any agreement. In an official statement, Dar announced that diplomatic efforts between Washington and Tehran are far from over. Islamabad will continue facilitating dialogue following the departure of both delegations.

Dar thanked both countries for responding to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s call for an immediate ceasefire. He also thanked them for accepting Pakistan’s invitation to hold negotiations in Islamabad. Pakistani officials, including Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir, helped mediate multiple rounds of discussions that continued for nearly 24 hours. The US delegation was led by Vice President JD Vance. Iran sent Parliamentary Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

Despite Washington’s announcement that no agreement had been reached, Dar emphasized that Pakistan remains committed to keeping diplomatic channels open. He expressed hope that both sides would maintain the ceasefire and continue negotiations in a constructive spirit.
