Xiaomi has introduced a new version of its tablet in China called the Redmi Pad 2 Pro Learning Edition. The device builds on the standard Redmi Pad 2 Pro, which launched in September 2025. This model positions itself more directly toward students. With this release, Xiaomi launched Redmi Pad 2 Pro as an education-focused device rather than a general-purpose tablet.
Design and Display
The Redmi Pad 2 Pro Learning Edition features a 12.1-inch display with 2.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi used matte glass on the screen to reduce glare during extended study sessions. The tablet also includes a rugged protective case in the box. The case features a latch, a stylus holder, and a foldable cover that doubles as a stand.
AI Learning Tools
The hardware remains unchanged from the standard model. The tablet runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The Learning Edition includes education-focused software features. An AI teacher can interact with users in real time and support question-and-answer sessions during lessons. Another tool checks homework with one tap, provides feedback, and identifies areas needing improvement. When Xiaomi launched Redmi Pad 2 Pro Learning Edition, it also included a three-year subscription to Xiaomi Education Center. This service offers access to textbooks, more than 150,000 lessons, and structured study plans.

Cameras
Xiaomi has not detailed any camera changes for the Learning Edition. The camera hardware likely remains the same as the standard model.
Battery and Pricing
The Redmi Pad 2 Pro Learning Edition packs a massive 12,000mAh battery. It supports 33W wired fast charging and 27W reverse wired charging, allowing it to charge other devices. The tablet costs $396, which is higher than the standard version’s $263 price for the same memory configuration. Xiaomi has not announced plans for a wider release yet.
