Quetta Gladiators crush Rawalpindies in PSL with a strong and confident performance in Karachi. The team secured a commanding 61-run victory, marking a major moment in the tournament. Meanwhile, Rawalpindies faced their fifth straight defeat, which raised serious concerns about their consistency and overall form.
Earlier, Rawalpindies won the toss and chose to field first, hoping to control the game early. However, Quetta Gladiators quickly took charge with steady batting. As a result, they posted a solid total of 182 runs for six wickets in their 20 overs, putting pressure on their opponents.
Rilee Rossouw led the batting effort with an impressive 53 runs, while Saud Shakeel added a reliable 42 runs. In addition, Hasan Nawaz contributed 39 runs to strengthen the innings. On the other hand, bowlers Ben Sears and Mohammad Amir tried to contain the damage, taking three and two wickets respectively.
In response, Rawalpindies struggled from the start and failed to build strong partnerships. Consequently, they were bowled out for just 121 runs in the 18th over. Although Saad Masood scored 31 runs and Daryl Mitchell added 30, the team lacked momentum throughout the chase.
Furthermore, captain Mohammad Rizwan had another disappointing outing, as he returned to the pavilion without scoring. Yasir Khan managed 22 runs, but his effort was not enough to change the outcome. Meanwhile, Quetta’s bowlers delivered an excellent performance, with Saud Shakeel, Usman Tariq, and Jahandad Khan taking two wickets each.
