Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif launched the Maryam Ki Dastak App during a special event held at a local hotel on Tuesday. Provincial ministers and members of the Punjab Assembly joined her for the inauguration.
At the National University of Sciences and Technology stall, a robot greeted the chief minister and briefed her on the app’s features. Meanwhile, at the Information Technology University stall, she conducted a virtual inspection of the Dastak Office in Arfa Karim Tower using Metaverse technology.
Authorities briefed the chief minister that all citizens, including senior citizens, women, and people with illnesses or disabilities, will initially receive 10 services at their doorsteps. These services include domicile certificates, e-stamping, and birth certificates. They also cover death certificates, marriage certificates, and divorce certificates. Additionally, citizens can access motor vehicle transfer, property tax, token tax, and new vehicle registration through the platform.
Officials also explained that a dedicated number, mobile app, and public portal will support citizens using these services. People can order services through the web portal, the mobile app, or by calling the dedicated center at 1202. Furthermore, citizens will be able to track their applications using a unique tracking ID.
The chief minister learned that the Maryam Ki Dastak App will dispatch a government-approved representative for each service request. This representative will handle everything from the application form to final document delivery at the citizen’s doorstep. Following the briefing, the chief minister invited several Dastak representatives onto the stage for a group photo.
Senator Pervaiz Rashid and Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb accompanied the chief minister at the event. Provincial Ministers Azma Zahid Bukhari, Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman, and Chaudhry Shafay Hussain also attended. Sohaib Ahmed Bharat, Rana Sikandar Hayat, and Bilal Akbar were present as well. Special Assistants Rashid Nasrullah and Zeeshan Malik joined alongside members of the Punjab Assembly. Finally, the Chief Secretary, the Inspector General of Punjab, and several other senior officers also attended the launch.
