Pakistan, Bangladesh deepen ties through women empowerment cooperation

Pakistan and Bangladesh have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations while promoting women’s empowerment during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Bangladesh’s Minister for Social Welfare, Dr Zahid Hossain. Both leaders discussed ways to expand cooperation and build stronger partnerships across areas of shared interest.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the current state of bilateral relations and explored new opportunities to increase collaboration in multiple sectors. They agreed that stronger engagement and regular dialogue would help both countries achieve mutual goals while creating lasting benefits for their people.

Ishaq Dar welcomed Dr Zahid Hossain’s participation in the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Ministerial Conference on Women and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to advancing women’s empowerment through the OIC and other international forums. He stressed that empowering women remains an important priority for sustainable social and economic development.

Furthermore, both leaders exchanged views on expanding cooperation in trade, education, social welfare and people-to-people exchanges to strengthen long-term relations. They agreed that greater collaboration in these sectors would promote mutual understanding, encourage development and open new opportunities for both nations.

The meeting concluded with both countries expressing a shared determination to further deepen bilateral cooperation and maintain close engagement on regional and international issues. They reaffirmed their commitment to working together for mutual benefit while strengthening friendship, promoting inclusive development and supporting initiatives that improve the well-being of their people.
