Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations, Abdallah Al Dardari, has sounded the alarm regarding the devastating economic impact of the ongoing regional war. He emphasized that every day of delay in a ceasefire is severely damaging the global economy.

The United Nations estimates that the Arab region’s Gross Domestic Product has already contracted by approximately six percent due to the month-long conflict. This rapid decline highlights the extreme vulnerability of regional markets to prolonged military hostilities today.

Financial losses are not limited to major oil producers, as the Eastern Mediterranean region is also suffering significantly. Experts suggest that these neighboring countries have already faced nearly 30 billion dollars in collateral damage since the fighting began.

The human cost of this economic crisis is equally alarming, with projections suggesting that 3.7 million jobs will be lost across Arab nations. This massive unemployment wave is expected to destabilize the regional labor market for years.

Furthermore, the conflict is pushing millions into extreme poverty at an unprecedented rate. Reports indicate that over four million additional individuals have either already fallen below the poverty line or are at immediate risk of doing so.

International observers are calling for urgent diplomatic intervention to prevent a total regional collapse. Without a swift resolution, the financial and social fallout from the war could permanently alter the economic landscape of the entire Middle East.
