Pakistan’s Maaz Sadaqat created history with a blistering century for Jamaica Kingsmen in the Caribbean Premier League 2026 final. The match against Antigua and Barbuda Falcons took place at Kensington Oval in Barbados. The 21-year-old smashed 114 runs from just 58 balls. His innings included eight fours and nine sixes. Jamaica posted 170-9 in their 20 overs thanks to his effort.

With this knock, Sadaqat became the first Pakistani to score a century in a franchise T20 final. He also became the first player in CPL history to register a century in the competition’s final. Additionally, his score of 114 is now the highest individual innings ever recorded in a CPL final. It surpasses the previous marks set by Lendl Simmons and Brandon King.

This was actually Sadaqat’s second century of the tournament. He had earlier hammered 112 off just 49 balls in the Eliminator. That innings made him the youngest centurion in CPL history at the time. Furthermore, this second hundred made him the first overseas player to score two centuries in a single CPL season. He also became only the fourth batter overall to achieve this feat.

Dwayne Smith previously achieved this in 2014 and 2017. Meanwhile, Shimron Hetmyer also registered two centuries in this year’s edition. Sadaqat finished the tournament with 363 runs from seven matches. His average stood at 60.50, with a strike rate of 174.52. Therefore, he ended up as the third-highest run-scorer in the entire competition.

Despite his record-breaking innings, Jamaica Kingsmen could not defend their total. Saim Ayub was the only other batter to make a real contribution, scoring 29 off 22 deliveries. Sufiyan Muqeem led the Falcons’ bowling attack with impressive figures of 4-14. Alzarri Joseph picked up two wickets, while Jayden Seales, Shadab Khan, and Shamar Springer each took one wicket.

Antigua and Barbuda Falcons chased down the 171-run target in just 16.4 overs. They lost only two wickets to secure an eight-wicket victory. This win handed them the CPL 2026 title. Amir Jangoo led the chase impressively with 57 off 34 balls. Meanwhile, Hasan Nawaz remained unbeaten on 47 off 35 deliveries, completing the victory with 20 balls to spare. Despite the record-setting Maaz Sadaqat century, the trophy ultimately went to the chasing side.
