Italy jobs Pakistanis agreement covers 10,500 positions over three years as Rome deepens labor, education, and diplomatic ties with Islamabad

Italy is opening thousands of legal employment opportunities for Pakistani workers. Ambassador Marilina Armellin announced that Italy will provide 10,500 jobs to Pakistanis over the next three years. The Italy jobs Pakistanis framework gives workers a structured and legal pathway into one of Europe’s largest economies. Moreover, the announcement came during Italy Day celebrations in Islamabad. The ambassador used the occasion to reaffirm Rome’s commitment to deeper cooperation with Pakistan.

Italy already hosts the largest Pakistani community in the European Union. Therefore, the new agreement builds on an existing and well-established relationship. Furthermore, Armellin described the labor mobility framework as a vehicle for strengthening people-to-people ties. The two countries are not starting from scratch — they are accelerating something already in motion.

Education also featured in the announcements. Italy awarded 3,200 scholarships to Pakistani students for the 2025-26 academic year. These scholarships give students access to higher education at Italian universities. Furthermore, Armellin highlighted ongoing efforts to improve consular access and diplomatic services for Pakistanis in Italy. Therefore, the bilateral push covers jobs, academic opportunity, and practical daily access all at once.

Pakistan’s mediation role in US-Iran tensions also drew praise. Armellin expressed full support for Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts. She described Pakistan as a country known for friendship, generosity, and mutual respect. Furthermore, Ali Pervaiz Malik spoke as chief guest and noted 78 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. He also expressed optimism about attracting Italian investment to Pakistan.

Finally, with 10,500 jobs and 3,200 scholarships announced in a single evening, Pakistan and Italy are clearly entering a more active chapter in their relationship.
