The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is hiring for eight posts, with gross monthly salaries of up to Rs. 219,556, according to its job advertisement published on October 18, 2026. Applications are online only and must be submitted within 15 days of publication.
The jobs are on contract for an initial three years. PTA can extend them depending on the employee’s performance and its own needs. All three posts have a maximum age of 40, and PTA policy adds other benefits on top of the salary.
| Position | Posts | Gross monthly salary |
|---|---|---|
| Assistant Director (Civil Works) | 1 | Rs. 219,556 |
| Information Technology Officer | 6 | Rs. 159,340 |
| Senior Assistant | 1 | Rs. 89,999 |
The two civil posts need engineering backgrounds
For Assistant Director (Civil Works), PTA asks for a master’s degree (18 years of education) in Civil Engineering plus three years of experience after graduating. A bachelor’s degree (16 years of education) in Civil Engineering also qualifies, but with five years of experience.
For Senior Assistant, candidates need 16 years of education in Civil Engineering or a related field and three years of experience. Another route is 14 years of education in a related field, or a B-Tech Pass in Civil Engineering, with five years of experience.
Four of the six IT posts are reserved by province
Information Technology Officer is the biggest group. Applicants need a master’s degree (18 years of education) in a relevant field with two years of experience. A bachelor’s degree (16 years of education) works with four years.
Accepted fields include Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, Cyber Security, Information Security, Data Science, Geo-Informatics, Remote Sensing and Space Science. The advertised areas of expertise are Security Operations Centre (SOC) work, incident handling and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
Of the six IT posts, two are open on merit, three are for Punjab and one is for urban Sindh. That makes domicile important for four of the six posts. The merit post pays about Rs. 60,000 less than the Assistant Director job. It pays about Rs. 69,000 more than the Senior Assistant job.
