His fortunes change when his admission letter from Hogwarts arrives, leading him to the elite school for wizards.

The preview shows Harry shopping in Diagon Alley with Hagrid and meeting his friends on the Hogwarts Express. Fans are already praising the visual fidelity of the sets, which capture the gothic aesthetic of the source material. To ensure high quality, HBO assembled a prestige television powerhouse team. Francesca Gardiner serves as the showrunner, while Mark Mylod directs multiple episodes. Legendary composer Hans Zimmer provides the score, creating a new musical identity for the reboot. The first season, The Philosopher’s Stone, begins streaming on December 25, 2026.
