PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has demanded an apology from Defence Minister Khawaja Asif over his remarks about Rawalakot and Mirpur. He also said the minister should resign if he does not apologize. The Bilawal Khawaja Asif dispute has become a key political issue ahead of the Azad Kashmir elections.

Bilawal addressed a public gathering in LA-3 Mirpur City. He criticized the federal government for what he called a lack of understanding of Kashmir’s concerns. He also questioned the minister’s remarks and said no one has the right to decide who is or is not Kashmiri.

The PPP chairman said Khawaja Asif should withdraw his statement. He added that an apology would help reduce tensions. Otherwise, he said the defence minister should leave his office.

Bilawal also criticized PML-N leaders Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz. He said neither leader condemned the minister’s statement. He argued that their silence suggested support for Khawaja Asif’s remarks.

During his speech, Bilawal questioned the PML-N’s development record. He said the party had ruled several times but failed to improve many regions. He urged voters to judge political parties by their performance instead of their promises.

Bilawal said the people of Azad Kashmir should choose their own leadership. He opposed any proposal that could reduce the public’s role in selecting the region’s government. He stressed that only voters should make that decision.

The PPP chairman also highlighted his party’s agenda. He promised to protect democratic rights, create employment opportunities, and expand public representation. He said the PPP would continue to work for the rights of the people of Azad Kashmir.

The Bilawal Khawaja Asif issue remained the main focus of his speech. Bilawal repeated his demand for an apology or resignation. He also urged political leaders to respect the views and rights of the people of Kashmir.
