The Junior National Tennis Championship 2026 crowns winners across eight categories at Sports Board Punjab Tennis Academy
Lahore’s tennis courts witnessed some thrilling junior action on June 18 as the Bank of Punjab Junior National Tennis Championship 2026 concluded its finals day at the Sports Board Punjab Tennis Academy, Nishtar Park Sports Complex. The event, organized by the Punjab Lawn Tennis Association, produced dominant performances across all age categories.
Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Mr. Tariq Qureshi attended as Chief Guest alongside Mr. Syed Rehan, Chief Internal Auditor of Bank of Punjab, and Tournament Director Rashid Malik. Their presence underlined the significance of the event as a key platform for developing junior tennis talent across Pakistan.
Boys U-18 Final
M. Yahya delivered a commanding performance to claim the Boys U-18 title. He defeated Hamza Ali Rizwan 6-3, 6-1 in a dominant display that left little room for his opponent to settle.
Girls U-18 Final
Hajra Sohail announced herself as the standout performer of the championship. She beat Bismal Zia 6-3, 6-0 to claim the Girls U-18 crown with a ruthless and controlled display.
Boys U-14 Final
Shayan Afridi proved too strong for M. Muaz in the Boys U-14 final. Afridi won 4-2, 4-0, producing a dominant performance that gave his opponent no path back into the contest.
Girls U-14 Final
Hajra Sohail added a second title to her day’s haul. She defeated Khadija Khalil 4-2, 4-1 to complete a remarkable double, winning both the U-14 and U-18 girls titles on the same day.
Boys U-14 Doubles Final
The doubles category produced a tight contest. M. Muaz and M. Aayan combined effectively to beat the pair of Daniyal Abdullah and Ahmad Fareed Yawar 4-2, 4-1 and claim the Boys U-14 Doubles title.
Boys U-12 Final
M. Aayan continued his impressive tournament run by winning the Boys U-12 singles title. He defeated M. Faizan 4-2, 4-2 in a competitive final between two closely matched players.
Girls U-12 Final
The Girls U-12 final produced the most dramatic match of the day. Shahnoor Umer edged out Eman Shahbaz 4-2, 1-4, 4-1 in a three-set contest that went to the wire before the former held her nerve.
Boys U-12 Doubles Final
Salaar Khan and M. Faizan claimed the Boys U-12 Doubles title with a convincing 4-0, 4-1 victory over Riyan Omer Khalil and M. Daniyal.
Boys/Girls U-10 Final
Finally, the youngest competitors took to the court in the U-10 category. Mustafa Zia won the title with a commanding 6-0 victory over Wali Abdullah, showing maturity and composure well beyond his years.
The Bank of Punjab Junior National Tennis Championship 2026 overall provided a strong platform for Pakistan’s emerging tennis talent.
