A 26-year-old Pakistani-born entrepreneur has joined the ranks of global billionaires. Sualeh Asif co-founded Cursor, an AI-powered coding assistant that helps developers generate, edit, and optimize code. Forbes now lists the Pakistani billionaire cofounder at number 2,919 on its real-time Billionaires List with a net worth of $1.3 billion. He co-founded Cursor alongside fellow students from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Cursor has seen explosive growth since its launch. The company reached a valuation of $29.3 billion after securing $2.3 billion in funding. Venture capital firms Accel and Coatue Management co-led the round. Each co-founder now holds an estimated net worth of about $1.3 billion, making the Pakistani billionaire cofounder one of the youngest self-made billionaires in the AI industry. The startup reports more than $1 billion in annualized revenue, placing it among the fastest-growing companies in the global AI sector.
Millions of developers use Cursor’s platform for AI-assisted programming. Roughly 50,000 enterprises, including Nvidia, Adobe, Uber, and Shopify, rely on the tool. Originally from Karachi, Asif represented Pakistan at the International Mathematical Olympiad from 2016 to 2018 before pursuing higher education at MIT. During his university years, he also launched an AI-powered search engine venture, reflecting his early focus on artificial intelligence innovation.
Cursor has four co-founders in total. Sualeh Asif shares the founder title with Michael Truell, Aman Sanger, and Arvid Lunnemark. The 2026 Forbes list now includes Asif’s name. Pakistan has produced another tech success story.
