CBC Piped Water Supply System: SHC Gives 3 Months Deadline for DHA Karachi
The Sindh High Court has ordered the Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) to build a proper CBC piped water supply system in DHA Karachi. The court gave CBC a strict deadline of three months.
This decision came on Tuesday while hearing multiple petitions from DHA residents about poor water supply.
The court made two clear demands. First, CBC must create a sustainable piped water network. Second, KWSC must increase bulk water supply to CBC and remove all illegal hydrants.
Key Court Directives
- CBC must complete the CBC piped water supply system within three months.
- Until then, CBC will continue bowser supply on a no-profit, no-loss basis.
- Distribution must remain fair and transparent for all residents.
- KWSC has to fix leakages and stop illegal hydrants immediately.
The two-judge bench, led by Justice Adnan-ul-Karim Memon, stressed an important point. Water shortage does not excuse CBC from providing better service and infrastructure.
The court also questioned CBC’s authority over DHA Phases VI, VII, and VIII. It asked CBC to produce official notifications that prove its jurisdiction in these areas.
What This Means for DHA Residents
This order brings hope to thousands of DHA residents who have faced water problems for many years. If CBC follows the deadline, DHA will finally get a reliable piped water system.
The three-month timeline puts strong pressure on both CBC and KWSC to deliver quick results.
