Iran Warns US Pressure Could Threaten Global Energy Supply

Iran warned that increased US economic and maritime pressure could disrupt global energy markets and international trade. The global energy supply warning came from an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) spokesperson. As a result, Iranian officials said rising tensions could affect not only the United States but also countries that rely on stable energy supplies.

According to Iran’s state news agency, IRGC spokesperson Hamed Reza said stronger US sanctions and tighter maritime restrictions could interrupt the global flow of energy. He argued that additional pressure on Tehran would have consequences beyond the two countries. Furthermore, he said many nations could face challenges if energy exports were disrupted.

Hamed Reza also highlighted the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. He said both waterways remain essential for transporting oil and other energy resources. Therefore, any instability in these areas could affect international shipping and regional security.

The spokesperson explained that millions of barrels of oil move through these maritime routes every day. He added that uninterrupted shipping is critical for the global economy. Consequently, any disruption could increase uncertainty in energy markets and international trade.

Iran’s latest remarks come as tensions between Tehran and Washington continue over sanctions and regional security issues. Meanwhile, Iranian officials have repeatedly criticized US economic measures. They argue that these policies increase pressure on Iran while creating uncertainty in global markets.

The United States has maintained that its sanctions support its foreign policy and security objectives. However, Iran continues to reject those measures and says they harm economic stability. In addition, both sides remain divided on several regional and diplomatic issues.

International observers continue to monitor developments closely because energy markets remain sensitive to geopolitical tensions. Analysts also note that any disruption to major shipping routes could affect global oil prices and supply chains. Therefore, diplomatic efforts remain important for reducing regional risks.

The latest global energy supply warning highlights Iran’s concerns about growing pressure from the United States. Finally, Iranian officials said protecting key maritime routes remains essential for global trade, energy security, and regional stability.
