Trump Issues 48-hour Ultimatum to Iran: Make a Deal or Face ‘Hell’

48-hour ultimatum to Iran

US President Donald Trump has issued a fresh 48-hour ultimatum to Iran, warning that failure to reach a deal or fully open the Strait of Hormuz will result in severe consequences.

In a post on his Truth Social platform on April 4, 2026, Trump wrote:

“Time is running out – 48 hours before all Hell will reign down on them.”

He reminded Iran of his earlier warning in which he had given them ten days to make a deal or open the vital Strait of Hormuz without threats.

Trump had previously threatened to “obliterate” Iran’s power plants if the strait remained blocked. He later mentioned holding “very good and productive conversations” with Iranian authorities and postponed planned strikes multiple times. The current 48-hour deadline is set to expire at 8:00 pm Monday (April 6, 2026).

The Strait of Hormuz is a critical global oil shipping route. Any prolonged closure or threat to it significantly impacts international oil prices and energy security.

This latest ultimatum comes amid ongoing tensions between the US and Iran, including recent military incidents such as the downing of US aircraft. While diplomatic talks appear to be continuing, Trump’s strong language indicates that the US is keeping maximum pressure on Iran.

The situation remains highly fluid, and the next 48 hours could prove critical for the region.
