The Government of Sindh has announced plans to generate and distribute affordable electricity. The province will use a provincial transmission and distribution framework to reduce power costs for consumers and support industrial growth. Consequently, Sindh to develop power system for cheaper electricity through a Sindh run transmission company. Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah shared this initiative during a meeting with Danish Ambassador Maja Derouss Mortensen at the CM House. Both sides discussed energy cooperation, investment, and environmental sustainability.
The chief minister said the key objective is to provide affordable electricity to both households and industries. The province aims to improve generation efficiency and lower distribution costs. Therefore, Sindh to develop power system for cheaper electricity by improving supply efficiency and reducing line losses. Murad Ali Shah highlighted Sindh’s strong potential in renewable energy. Wind power along the coastal belt positions the province as a future hub for clean energy development.
The Danish ambassador expressed strong interest in Sindh’s renewable energy sector. She particularly focused on wind energy opportunities. She reaffirmed Denmark’s commitment to supporting environmentally friendly development projects. Hence, Sindh to develop power system for cheaper electricity with potential Danish investment. Both sides agreed that collaboration in green energy could create new investment opportunities and strengthen economic ties.
The meeting also discussed coastal development plans to upgrade Keti Bandar into a modern deep sea port. The chief minister said this project could reduce pressure on Karachi’s ports and open new trade routes. Both sides agreed to explore further cooperation in energy, infrastructure, and investment while marking 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Denmark.
