Sindh Declares Public Holiday on March 13 for Jumma-tul-Wida and Youm-al-Quds

The Government of Sindh, through its Services, General Administration and Coordination Department, has officially declared Friday, March 13, 2026, as a public holiday. The holiday is observed in connection with Jumma-tul-Wida (the final Friday of the holy month of Ramadan) and Youm-al-Quds, a day of solidarity.

According to the official notification, all provincial government offices, autonomous bodies, semi-autonomous organizations, corporations, and local councils will remain closed. This closure extends to all public and private educational institutions across Sindh. However, essential services—including hospitals, emergency response units, and municipal services—will continue to operate as usual to ensure public safety.

This announcement comes as part of a busy administrative week in Sindh; it follows the Youm-e-Ali holiday (March 11) and precedes the scheduled spring break for schools, which is set to run from March 16 to March 31. Furthermore, the provincial government has recently implemented a work-from-home policy for Fridays as part of broader energy conservation measures, but this specific notification formalizes March 13 as a total holiday for all sectors under provincial jurisdiction.
