The National Disaster Management Authority has issued a nationwide weather advisory. Rain storms and hail expected to terrorize Pakistan from April 12 to 17 across northern and central regions. Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan will receive intermittent rainfall. Isolated areas may experience hailstorms alongside thunderstorms, dust storms and gusty winds.
Islamabad and multiple Punjab cities face heavy weather. These include Murree, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Gujrat, Sialkot, Lahore, Mianwali and Mandi Bahauddin. Sindh and Balochistan will remain largely hot and dry. Karachi will stay warm but sea breezes should prevent heatwave conditions. Mountainous regions may receive both rain and snowfall. Higher elevations in Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir could see snow.
The NDMA warned that lightning, hail and powerful wind gusts may damage weak structures. Trees could uproot and electricity supply may face disruption. Wet road conditions will affect traffic flow. Continuous rainfall in hilly terrain heightens the risk of landslides. Citizens should monitor official weather updates and follow safety instructions. Rain storms and hail expected to terrorize Pakistan next week, so staying prepared makes all the difference.
