Pakistani beef now heads to Central Asia through a new route. Pakistan achieved a major milestone in its transit logistics sector. The first refrigerated TIR export shipment from Karachi left via the Iran corridor for Uzbekistan. This means Pakistan opens new Iran trade corridor for beef exports, and the timing benefits exporters greatly.

The consignment departed from BOML CFS Karachi under the TIR system. It will travel through the Gabd Border Post near Gwadar, enter Iran via Rimdan, and continue to Central Asian markets. Officials called this a significant step forward for Pakistan’s transit trade framework. The Gabd–Rimdan corridor can strengthen Gwadar’s strategic connectivity while expanding access to emerging export markets.

Pakistan Customs facilitated the inaugural shipment. Senior officials inaugurated the first two reefer TIR transport units. Logistics operators and trade bodies also attended the event. The initiative reflects growing coordination between Customs authorities, TIR operators, and logistics companies. International container traffic at Karachi Port has increased in recent weeks.
