Pakistan has officially kicked off the journey toward next year’s pilgrimage. The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony announced that the Hajj 2027 registration process began on June 22, 2026, giving hopeful pilgrims their first chance to secure a spot.

The process will follow guidelines issued by Saudi authorities. Applicants can register online through the ministry’s official Hajj portal at hajj.mora.gov.pk. The platform requires pilgrims to create personal accounts and submit their own details. Additionally, they must provide information about other members in their group.

The ministry has advised applicants to form groups made up only of family members. This approach should simplify coordination later in the process.

Interestingly, a passport is not required at this initial stage. However, applicants must hold a valid passport once the Hajj booking process begins. That passport must also remain valid until at least November 16, 2027. So pilgrims still have time to renew or apply for travel documents.

Only those who complete registration will be eligible to book Hajj 2027. Therefore, skipping this step isn’t an option for anyone planning to travel. Once registered, applicants will later choose between the government and private Hajj schemes, depending on their preference and budget.

Overseas Pakistanis are not left out either. They can also complete the registration process from abroad, which should ease concerns for families split across countries. Moreover, the ministry has confirmed it will not charge any registration fee, removing one financial hurdle from the start.

Meanwhile, the government plans to announce the final Hajj package cost, booking schedule, and other terms under the Hajj Policy 2027. This means pricing and scheduling details are still to come. Still, the registration window gives applicants a head start before bookings open.

Booking will work on a first-come, first-served basis. It will stay open until Pakistan’s allocated quota fills up, so early registration could matter more than usual this year.
