Mehreen Jabbar is making a highly anticipated comeback this Eid with her new series Farar, set to stream exclusively on the Pakistani platform Begin starting March 21, 2026.
This six-episode drama is a modern reimagination of Jabbar’s own cult classic 1990s telefilm of the same name. Directed by the acclaimed filmmaker herself and scripted by Rida Bilal (known for works like Zakham and Jaan E Jahan), Farar centers on three women navigating the complexities of life in Karachi.
The story follows:
- Sabrina, a widowed hairdresser entangled in complicated relationships
- Tanya, an up-and-coming actress battling body image struggles
- Huma, a dedicated track athlete facing pressure to settle down and marry
Their strong friendship is put to the test by hidden secrets, personal ambitions, and the desire for transformation. The series’ tagline captures it perfectly: “Life is a mess, but at least the circle is solid.”
The stellar cast includes Sarwat Gilani, Tooba Siddiqui, Mariam Saleem, Maha Hasan, Saleem Mairaj, Zahid Ahmed, and Hina Khawaja Bayat — promising powerful performances and emotional depth.
After rumors of production dating back to 2022 and initial ties to platforms like Zee5, fans have waited eagerly for this release. The recently dropped trailer has already built excitement, showcasing the women balancing careers, friendships, and a bit of mischief.
