The Met Office said sea breezes are blowing at a slow speed. This has added to the hot and humid conditions in Karachi.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority has issued a heatwave alert for the city. It has advised relevant authorities to take all necessary measures to reduce the heatwave’s impact. Therefore, Karachi feels like temperature requires immediate action from civic agencies. K Electric has said it will avoid loadshedding during the hot weather. The power utility remains prepared to maintain electricity supply as demand rises across Karachi. K Electric spokesperson Imran Rana said the company is ready and committed to ensuring a sustainable power supply.

Field teams remain on alert for quick restoration in case of faults. However, Rana urged citizens to monitor weather conditions and follow heatwave safety guidelines. He said KE remains in contact with civic agencies and will cooperate as needed. All public utilities should stand together during the heatwave. Karachi feels like temperature demands collective resilience from the city. The power company said shutdowns have been suspended during the heatwave. 70 percent of Karachi is already exempt from loadshedding.
