The Chery Tiggo 7 PHEV will enter the country’s C segment plug in hybrid SUV space as a completely knocked down model from day one. Deliveries should begin by June 2026, depending on booking volumes.
The vehicle rides on Chery’s fifth generation Super Hybrid architecture. A 1.5 litre turbocharged petrol engine teams up with an 18.3 kWh battery. The system produces 342 horsepower and 525 Nm of torque. Chery claims the SUV can hit 100 km/h in 8.4 seconds. That is respectable power for a family hauler.
Range figures look impressive too. The Tiggo 7 PHEV offers over 90 kilometres of pure electric driving. Combined range exceeds 1,200 kilometres. Chery says the vehicle can cut fuel costs by more than 70 percent compared to conventional petrol SUVs when driving in electric mode daily. Eight airbags and Level 2 ADAS come standard. A 24.6 inch dual display, Sony audio, and vehicle to load capability round out the package.
