NHA Increases Toll Tax Rates On Major Highways

NHA toll tax rates

The National Highway Authority has officially revised NHA toll tax rates across several major roads in Pakistan. The new rates took effect on July 10, 2026. Therefore, motorists traveling on some of the country’s busiest routes will now pay more at toll plazas.

Additionally, the revised charges apply to key routes, including the M-1, M-3, M-4, M-5, and M-14 motorways. Moreover, the E-35 Expressway, the Kohat Tunnel on N-55, and the Islamabad-Murree Dual Carriageway fall under the new schedule. As a result, drivers across a wide stretch of the national road network will feel the impact.

Furthermore, the updated NHA toll tax rates cover every vehicle category on these routes. Also, cars, wagons, and buses will pay higher tolls. Still, two and three-axle trucks and articulated trucks will see increased charges too. Consequently, both everyday commuters and commercial transporters will notice the change on their regular trips.

Authorities typically revise toll charges to help fund ongoing maintenance, repairs, and safety upgrades across the highway network. Instead of a single flat increase, the new schedule sets separate rates for each route and vehicle type. Meanwhile, the tables below break down the exact charges for national highways and motorways.

The NHA’s Finance Wing, through its Revenue Directorate, issued the full toll schedule. Meanwhile, it applies across the country’s major highway and motorway network. Therefore, commuters and transport companies will need to budget for the higher costs on these routes going forward.

Also, long-distance travelers between cities like Lahore, Multan, and Peshawar will likely notice the biggest difference in their travel expenses. Finally, drivers should check the updated rates for their specific route before setting out on long journeys.
