PIA China Pakistan connectivity expands to 25 cities through new partnerships with Air China and Shenzhen Airlines
Pakistan International Airlines has taken a major step toward stronger air links between China and Pakistan. Specifically, through new partnerships with Air China and Shenzhen Airlines, PIA now offers passengers from 25 Chinese cities seamless access to its direct Beijing-Islamabad service.
The initiative targets a wide range of travelers. Students, business travelers, tourists, and families can all benefit from the expanded network. Furthermore, the move aims to strengthen people-to-people contacts, tourism, and trade between the two countries.
Under its partnership with Air China, passengers can connect to PIA’s Beijing-Islamabad flight from 16 Chinese cities. These include Chongqing, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Xi’an, and Urumqi, among others. Meanwhile, through its collaboration with Shenzhen Airlines, travelers gain access from nine additional destinations. These cover Yichun, Xiangyang, Chengdu Tianfu, Quanzhou, Nantong, Wuxi, Nanning, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen. Together, both partnerships bring the total network to 25 departure points across China.
The new arrangement lets passengers travel from any of these cities to Islamabad via Beijing on a single ticket. This removes the hassle of separate bookings and disconnected itineraries. Additionally, PIA has introduced competitive through fares from all 25 partner cities, directly reducing overall travel costs for passengers.
The discounted fares carry particular significance for Pakistani students studying in China. Moreover, Chinese visitors traveling to Pakistan and business travelers moving between the two countries will also find the new pricing highly attractive. Therefore, the expansion benefits multiple traveler categories at once.
PIA China Pakistan connectivity has long needed this kind of structured expansion. Overall, the airline’s officials confirmed that the cooperation reflects a broader commitment to supporting tourism, educational exchanges, trade, and cultural relations between Islamabad and Beijing. Similarly, the partnerships signal PIA’s intent to compete more seriously on international routes by leveraging codeshare arrangements rather than operating in isolation.
Finally, tickets are available through PIA offices, authorized travel agents, and major online booking platforms. However, travelers should contact their nearest PIA office or travel agent for full booking details and confirmation of applicable fares before making arrangements.
