Sindh starts arresting tenants and landlords

Authorities in Sindh have intensified enforcement against rental property violations. Living in a rented property without proper registration may now lead to serious legal consequences. Both tenants and property owners could face jail time if they do not comply. This means Sindh starts arresting tenants and landlords who fail to complete mandatory registration. The South Karachi District Police registered 39 cases and arrested 54 individuals in the latest crackdown.

Saddar police recorded 8 cases and arrested 15 individuals, the highest among all stations. Clifton police also registered 8 cases, leading to 10 arrests. Defense police arrested 8 individuals. Police officials reiterated that registration remains mandatory for both tenants and landlords. When Sindh starts arresting tenants and landlords, non-compliance carries real jail time, not just fines. Senior Superintendent of Police South Mahzoor Ali stated that actions against unregistered individuals will intensify further.

The crackdown specifically targets temporary residents. Authorities have urged all tenants and property owners to ensure compliance immediately. The registration requirement applies to every rental property across the province. Police will not accept ignorance as an excuse. South Karachi has become the pilot area for this enforcement drive. Other districts will likely follow soon.

Landlords must register their tenants with local police stations. Tenants must ensure their landlords complete this process. Failure on either side leads to arrest. Sindh starts arresting tenants and landlords, and the message is clear. Register your rental or face the consequences.
