Babar Leads Another Zalmi Masterclass at National Stadium

Peshawar Zalmi crush Quetta

Peshawar Zalmi crush Quetta Gladiators by eight wickets in PSL 11 at National Bank Stadium. The victory marks Zalmi’s fifth consecutive win after a washout against Islamabad United. They now hold six wins in seven matches. Captain Babar Azam decided to field first. That decision paid immediate dividends. Quetta could only manage 154 all out in their 20 overs. A modest target for a red-hot chasing side.

The chase began with flair. Mohammad Haris and Babar put together 75 runs inside nine overs. Haris smashed 35 off 28 deliveries with five fours and a six. Saud Shakeel dismissed him eventually. But the damage was already done. Babar then joined Kusal Mendis for a 49-run partnership. Mendis contributed 21 before Alzarri Joseph removed him. Babar held his ground firmly throughout.

Peshawar Zalmi crush Quetta’s bowling attack with ease. Babar remained unbeaten on 71 off 51 deliveries. He struck 10 fours in a captain’s knock. Aaron Hardie provided support with 18 not out from 14 balls. Zalmi knocked off the winning runs with nine balls to spare. Only two wickets fell during the entire chase. Joseph and Saud took one each. Not nearly enough to stop the league leaders.

Sufiyan Muqeem starred with the ball earlier. He took 3 wickets for just 25 runs in four overs. Abdul Basit also claimed three wickets. Iftikhar Ahmed chipped in with one. Quetta’s top scorer Hasan Nawaz made 37 off 35 balls. Rilee Rossouw added 28 off 16. Both fell at crucial moments. Zalmi now look unstoppable. Other teams should take notice.
