The revised fare structure will apply to all Bus Rapid Transit lines, including the Lahore Metrobus system. Officials confirmed a flat increase of 10 rupees per trip for passengers using these services.
Under the new rates, commuters in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Multan will now pay 40 rupees per trip. This decision was necessitated by rising operational costs and the need for service quality maintenance.
To provide relief, the authority announced that Green Transport Card holders will pay a discounted rate. These frequent travelers can still commute for 25 rupees per trip, saving 15 rupees per journey.
Authorities expect this change to place financial pressure on regular commuters throughout the Punjab province. However, they encourage the use of prepaid cards to mitigate the impact of the recent price hike.
