Pakistan Army Destroys Key Afghan Taliban Posts in Arandu & Kurram Sectors

PESHAWAR – In a decisive retaliatory operation, the Pakistan Army has destroyed several key Afghan posts and military centres in the Arandu and Kurram sectors along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

The strikes were carried out as part of the ongoing Operation Ghazab Lil Haq, launched on 26 February 2026 following repeated unprovoked firing from the Afghan side. Security sources told The Express Tribune that the Afghan Taliban regime’s aggression left Pakistan with no choice but to respond firmly.

According to the same sources, the precision attacks were so effective that Afghan Taliban fighters were forced to abandon their positions and flee. Pakistani forces have made it clear that the operation is strictly limited to targeting Afghan Taliban hideouts, Fitna al-Khawarij (TTP-linked terrorist elements), and associated military installations — no civilian areas are being hit.

The army’s response comes after months of cross-border provocations. Operation Ghazab Lil Haq was initiated precisely to neutralise these threats and restore peace along Pakistan’s western frontier. Military officials stress that every action is measured, targeted, and aimed solely at those responsible for the unprovoked attacks.

This latest success underscores Pakistan’s zero-tolerance policy towards cross-border terrorism and its commitment to securing the border. While tensions remain high, Pakistani forces continue to maintain pressure on hostile elements operating from Afghan soil.
