First-Ever Self-Driving Electric Scooter Unveiled in Pakistan

EVEE showcased its S1 Air Self Drive at PAPS 2026, giving visitors an early look at an experimental scooter that can move and balance without anyone sitting on it. EVEE built the prototype on the existing S1 Air platform. Additionally, it uses new motorised hardware and a dedicated control system to handle autonomous movement. EVEE says it is still developing the technology, and it has not confirmed a launch date or price yet. Still, the company believes this could become Pakistan’s first self-driving electric scooter if it eventually reaches production.

Based on the Regular S1 Air

The S1 Air Self Drive shares its basic platform with the standard S1 Air. However, the key difference lies in the extra hardware needed for autonomous movement and balancing. The regular S1 Air runs on a 2,200W motor and offers a claimed range of 90 to 110 kilometers. It also reaches a top speed of around 65 to 70 km/h. Meanwhile, a 76.8V 32Ah Phylion lithium battery powers the scooter. EVEE currently prices the standard S1 Air Lithium at Rs. 319,900.

What Makes It Different?

The main addition is the self-driving system, and extra motor hardware supports it so the scooter can move on its own during demonstrations. The balancing system also allows the scooter to stay upright while running without a rider. However, EVEE has not yet revealed the complete sensor setup, control software, or final hardware design behind the system. Therefore, buyers should currently see the S1 Air Self Drive as a development-stage prototype rather than a finished product.

No Launch Date or Price Yet

EVEE has not announced when, or if, this self-driving electric scooter will reach showrooms. There is also no confirmed commercial price at this stage. The company says it is still testing the concept and evaluating the technology before deciding on a production version. Finally, the S1 Air Self Drive currently serves as a preview of the technologies EVEE is exploring for future electric two-wheelers.

EVEE Gen-Z Pro Also Gets a Side-Seat Version

EVEE also displayed a Gen-Z Pro fitted with a side seat at the same event. Instead of introducing a new powertrain, the modified version shows how the company can adapt its existing scooter platforms for different uses. This suggests EVEE is exploring flexible designs across its lineup, rather than just focusing on one new model.
