Karsaz accident suspect Natasha Danish acquitted in drug case

Natasha Danish acquitted

A significant legal chapter concluded in Karachi’s judicial system this week. A Karachi court acquitted Natasha Danish specifically in her remaining drug case. Therefore, Natasha Danish acquitted status now applies to all charges stemming from the 2024 Karsaz accident. Judicial Magistrate East cited insufficient evidence supporting the prosecution’s case specifically. The court determined prosecutors failed proving she drove under methamphetamine influence.

Danish’s legal counsel Fawad Ali Khichi explained the acquittal’s evidentiary basis directly. Chemical and blood tests reportedly found no drug traces whatsoever. Additionally, Khichi made serious allegations regarding evidence handling specifically. He claimed police had tampered with her biological samples improperly. Furthermore, he alleged the investigating officer concealed blood test report results deliberately.

This drug case followed specific legal procedures under Pakistani law. Authorities registered charges under Section 11 of the Prohibition Order of 1979. This case remained legally separate from parallel murder proceedings throughout the process. Notably, a judicial magistrate had already rejected Danish’s earlier acquittal plea back in May 2025.

Understanding the original accident provides crucial context for these legal proceedings. On August 19, 2024, a speeding vehicle caused tragic consequences specifically. Danish’s Toyota Land Cruiser struck three motorcycles and another car on Karsaz Road. This devastating crash killed 60-year-old Imran Arif tragically. Additionally, his 22-year-old daughter Amna also lost her life. Furthermore, three additional victims suffered injuries during this incident.

Authorities arrested Danish immediately at the accident scene. Initial charges included serious murder allegations specifically. Subsequently, a separate case emerged following concerning medical report findings. These reports reportedly indicated methamphetamine influence during the incident. Sindh Inspector General Ghulam Nabi Memon confirmed these findings publicly. He stated medical reports, requested by victims’ counsel, showed crystal meth influence specifically. Therefore, police registered additional charges under the Prohibition Order.

Multiple legal proceedings unfolded across different judicial venues throughout this case. A sessions court granted murder case bail on September 6, 2024. This bail followed the victims’ family pardoning Danish without seeking blood money. However, her drug case bail requests followed considerably different paths. Both a judicial magistrate and sessions court rejected these separate bail pleas that same month.

Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Raza Ansari made important findings during these proceedings. He determined that sample manipulation claims lacked credibility specifically. Meanwhile, state prosecutor Syed Khursheed Abbas Bukhari opposed bail applications actively. He argued the final charge sheet remained unsubmitted at that time.

Danish eventually pursued relief through higher judicial channels specifically. She approached the Sindh High Court through her legal representation. Justice Muhammad Karim Khan Agha ultimately approved her drug case bail. This approval came after hearing comprehensive arguments from both parties. Notably, Karachi police filed the charge sheet just two days before this hearing.

The murder case reached resolution earlier through different proceedings entirely. On October 31, 2024, a district and sessions court acquitted Danish specifically. Her lawyer confirmed the court accepted a compromise application between involved parties. Therefore, this earlier resolution addressed the most serious charges initially filed.

Friday’s ruling represents the definitive conclusion to this lengthy legal saga. Natasha Danish acquitted status now covers every criminal case from the Karsaz accident. Finally, this comprehensive resolution closes an extended legal process that began with a tragic accident claiming two lives and generating significant public attention throughout Pakistan’s judicial system.
