City Administration Finalizes Sites for Seasonal Activity
The Karachi administration has approved 21 cattle markets across the city ahead of Eidul Azha. Authorities distributed sites across all districts while assigning oversight to multiple authorities to manage the seasonal activity. Consequently, Karachi approves 21 cattle markets for Eidul Azha with a mix of permanent and temporary facilities. According to the official plan, four markets will operate as permanent facilities. The remaining 17 markets will establish on a temporary basis. Six markets will fall under the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s management. Deputy commissioners and town municipal corporations will supervise the rest.
The Northern Bypass has been designated as the main cattle market for the city. Traditional markets in Malir, including Asu Goth and the Cattle Colony, will continue functioning alongside newly designated sites. Therefore, Karachi approves 21 cattle markets for Eidul Azha while keeping existing locations active. Authorities have directed all relevant departments to ensure strict arrangements for cleanliness, traffic management, security, and waste disposal at every market location.
District wise breakdown shows markets spread across the city. West district will host markets at Taiser Town near Northern Bypass, Aftab Ground in Sector 11½ Orangi Town, and 2½ Number Ground in UC-9 Orangi Town. Korangi district sites include K Area Ground on Bagh i Korangi Road, Coastguard Korangi Garrison in Madina Colony, an open space opposite Attock Petrol Pump, and Eidgah Ground in Korangi No. 5. Malir district markets will operate at Aasoo Goth, Cattle Colony, and Memon Dairy Farming Society near Deh Konhar.
Central district designated locations include Sunday Car Bazaar in Sector 11 D North Karachi, Nazimabad No. 2 near Ghalib Library, and New Karachi Sector 11 I. East district has five approved sites. Keamari district will establish markets at Yousuf Goth and Maweshi Mandi Keamari. District South will have a single market at Naval Heights near Kala Pul.
