Pakistan Railways Announces Suspension Of Train Services In Balochistan

Pakistan Railways has formally declared a complete suspension of train operations within the province of Balochistan scheduled for March 27. According to railway authorities, this temporary closure is necessary to conduct urgent technical repairs and essential maintenance.

The official statement confirmed that the Jaffar Express, which regularly travels from Quetta to Peshawar, will not depart on the scheduled date. This disruption is expected to affect hundreds of passengers planning to travel across the country.

Furthermore, the Jaffar Express arriving from Peshawar will not reach its final destination in Quetta during this period. Authorities have decided to short-terminate the train at Jacobabad, where it will be sent back toward its origin.

Railway officials also noted that several other key services in the region remain inactive due to prior operational decisions. The Bolan Mail, which connects Quetta to Karachi, and the Chaman Passenger train are already currently suspended.

The technical teams are working to address specific track vulnerabilities that require immediate attention before regular operations can resume safely. Passengers are advised to contact railway inquiry counters for updated information regarding their ticket refunds or rescheduling.

The suspension highlights the ongoing challenges faced by the railway infrastructure in maintaining consistent service across difficult terrains. Regular train operations are expected to be restored once the engineering department confirms the safety and stability of the tracks.
