Joining him is a talented lineup of female artists: powerhouse vocalist Aima Baig, rapper Daniya Kanwal, and the trailblazing Sabri Sisters (Saman and Anamta Sabri), known for their Sufi qawwali expertise.
The anthem, teased with the theme “Bat Pe Khelenge” (or “Beat Pe Khelenge” in some updates), celebrates the passion and energy of cricket. This diverse collaboration hints at a fresh fusion of genres — from Atif’s signature romantic pop and soulful melodies to Aima’s Coke Studio flair, Daniya’s Urdu rap edge, and the spiritual depth of Sufi music from the Sabri Sisters.
Atif Aslam, famous for timeless hits like Aadat, Dil Diyan Gallan, and Pehli Nazar Mein, previously teamed up with Aima Baig for the hugely popular PSL 7 anthem Agay Dekh. Aima herself has lent her voice to multiple PSL tracks, making their reunion highly anticipated. Daniya Kanwal brings the rap element, continuing the tradition seen with artists like Young Stunners in recent seasons. The inclusion of the Sabri Sisters marks a groundbreaking touch, as they lead Pakistan’s first all-female qawwali group and recently gained fame with their OST work alongside Asim Azhar.
While Pepsi (a long-time PSL partner) and the PSL management haven’t revealed the full song yet, the star power alone has fans buzzing. The anthem is expected to drop soon — possibly around Chand Raat before Eid ul Fitr — just in time to hype up the tournament kicking off on March 26.
