Kerosene Oil Gets a Massive Price Increase

The federal government of Pakistan has announced a significant increase in the price of kerosene oil following a new notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

According to the notification, the price of kerosene oil has been raised by Rs. 39.20 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs. 358.01 per litre. Previously, kerosene oil was priced at Rs. 318.81 per litre.

Petrol and Diesel Prices Remain Unchanged

Despite the increase in kerosene prices, the government has decided not to increase the prices of petrol and diesel in the latest petroleum price review.

Currently, petrol will remain priced at Rs. 321.17 per litre, while diesel will continue to sell at Rs. 335.86 per litre until the next fuel price review.

Government Aims to Provide Relief to Consumers

Shehbaz Sharif stated that the government decided to keep petrol and diesel prices unchanged despite the rise in global oil prices.

According to the prime minister, the decision reflects the government’s commitment to reducing financial pressure on ordinary citizens and providing relief amid rising living costs.

However, the increase in kerosene prices could still impact households and industries that rely on the fuel for heating, cooking, and other energy needs.

The government typically reviews petroleum product prices periodically based on international market trends and fiscal considerations.
