Apple has officially introduced the Apple MacBook Neo, a budget-friendly laptop designed to make the Mac experience accessible to more users worldwide. Starting at $599, it is the most affordable MacBook Apple has ever released and is aimed at students, first-time Mac buyers, and everyday users looking for reliable performance at a lower price point.
The new MacBook Neo is powered by Apple’s A18 Pro chip, the same processor used in the iPhone 16 Pro lineup, bringing strong performance for daily tasks like web browsing, document editing, streaming, and light creative work. It features a 13-inch Liquid Retina display, up to 16 hours of battery life, a Magic Keyboard, a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, and dual speakers with spatial audio support.

Apple also introduced vibrant color options including silver, indigo, blush, and citrus, giving the laptop a modern and youthful design. While the MacBook Neo keeps the premium aluminum build Apple is known for, it also makes some compromises—such as limited ports and non-upgradeable memory—to maintain its aggressive pricing.
With this launch, Apple is clearly targeting the entry-level laptop market, competing directly with Chromebooks and budget Windows laptops while bringing the macOS ecosystem to a wider audience.
