Pakistan Beat India in Just 3.5 Overs at Hong Kong Sixes

Pakistan vs India Hong Kong Sixes

Pakistan beat India by four wickets at the Hong Kong Sixes on Friday, October 30, 2026, chasing down 89 runs in just 3.5 overs. The Group C match was played at the Mission Road Ground in Mong Kok, Hong Kong.

India batted first and made 88, losing five wickets in their six overs. Shashank Singh was the one Indian batter who got going, hitting 40 off 11 balls with five sixes and two fours. Nitish Rana added 19 off 14, and T Natarajan finished on 12 not out from six balls.

Five sixes in the first over

The chase was effectively over in six deliveries. Pakistan captain Abbas Afridi faced Krunal Pandya in the opening over and hit five sixes in a row, taking 31 runs from it.

Abbas Afridi went on to make 35 from eight balls before he was caught by T Natarajan off the bowling of Shashank Singh. Khawaja Nafay was just as brutal at the other end, making 41 off 12 balls with five sixes and two fours before falling to Rahul Tewatia.

Irfan Khan Niazi hit a six off the first ball he faced, and Abdul Samad finished unbeaten on seven as Pakistan closed on 92 for two with 13 balls still left. Abbas Afridi was named Player of the Match.

A loss to UAE earlier the same day

The win mattered more than the scoreline suggests. Pakistan had lost their opening Group C match to the United Arab Emirates by one wicket earlier on Friday morning. Beating India was their first win from two games and kept them in the hunt for the next round.

For readers who have not watched this tournament before, the format explains the madness. Each team has six players, each innings lasts six overs, and a side is all out once five wickets fall. Everyone except the wicketkeeper must bowl an over. With those rules, a score of 88 is modest and an over costing 31 runs can settle a match on its own.

Pakistan come into this edition as holders. They won the title in 2025, their sixth, with Abbas Afridi named Player of the Series. The year before that, they lost the 2024 final to Sri Lanka at the same ground.
